Worship! Worship! Worship!

speech bubble representing person 1 talking Some of you may remember the days when you had functions called “worship services.” The general idea, in addition to a sermon and some prayers, was to sing songs and hymns and “worship.” But I wonder if there is such a thing as a worship song? A song that is always a worship song. Disconnected from the reality of pursuit of God’s mind on a specific topic or topics or involving people or situations, what exactly is worship? If it’s not acknowledging God‘s greatness and his clever solutions that we could not have thought of, if it is not acknowledging his greatness and his absoluteness to make every decision, what exactly is worship? Faith in God’s character and his power could not be more connected to true worship. A song is just a song, but to look God in the eye and to declare his praises, to worship him and tell him that we fully admire and acknowledge his absolute ability to conquer every problem right on time and his own way, that alone is worship. A worship song, so-called, must be connected to real things. Since we are daily involved with real things and real people, struggles and failures of our own or of others, let’s look him in the eye with faith in his character and his power and his wisdom, and worship worship worship! We could even do it in song. :-)

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Heb. 11:6

speech bubble representing person 3 talkingThough my life has been literally been filled with blessing after blessing, and miracle after miracle for 30+ years now, I know that beyond the emotion and pain, the last few weeks have opened my eyes more than ever before to how absolutely deserving of all my worship and adoration and awe our Father and His Son are... and how utterly beautiful They are in His Gifts and People. Joy indescribable is the best way to “describe” it and peace that is beyond understanding. I truly long for all of us to stay so vitally Connected to the Vine that They might receive the affection and 100x fruit from our lives that They deserve. I’m ashamed of how much time I’ve wasted, but so grateful for every new minute to ask, seek, knock and explore the Depth of the Wonders of Their Hearts.
