Worthy By Association
Family, a thought to consider: Ever thought about or ever heard about Joseph, Mary’s husband as being an “insignificant” character? Sort of a background person in the scriptures? That is how he is described sometimes. Do you ever feel that way? Do you ever feel God can’t use you because you’re just a “background person” too, not even very “worthy” of His use? Well…did you know that Joseph was visited by an angel not just once about the birth of Jesus, but at least four times we know of? (Mat.1:20, 2:13, 19, 22). God was all over him. Why?? Not because he WAS significant or “worthy.” God communicated to him because His interests in His Son were at stake. And Joseph was wrapped up in the life of Jesus. His interests WERE God’s interests. So God touched Joseph’s life because he touched Jesus’ life. Can you see it? Now there are certainly reasons why God wouldn’t use us, practicing sin, of course. But thinking we’re a second class christian is not one of them unless we let our imaginations paralyze us from being faithful with what is in front of us having to do with God’s interests, like Joseph did. It’s not about being “worthy.” It’s about loving, serving, protecting, caring about Jesus!!! And because the Father loves the Son, He will meet us there according to His Sovereign purpose and timing, guaranteed!!! —dave f 1:05 p.m.
