What Would Be Enough For You?
3/11/2021
“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being *rich in mercy,* because of the *great love with which he loved us,* even when we were dead in our trespasses, *made us alive* together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and *raised us up with him and seated us with him* in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
If this is all he ever did for us, would it be enough? Or would we expect or demand more - in order to be fully satisfied?
S: What an incredible gift it is, to expect any more would seemed to be so ungrateful.
A: From hunkering in darkness of the lowest corner of hell with dark eyes and dark heart to standing before Him clean with light in my eyes and heart...and becoming like the Son from glory to glory...I will be satisfied and rejoice in it!
L: In my wildest dreams how could I have ever imagined even that much. That is EVERYTHING. That is enough! And sooo grateful! Seated with Him?!! Wow!
M: To be forgiven of my sins, the weight of selfishness and greed removed. To be freed from the constant pulling of desire and to just be content to be Loved and Belong to Him. To be changed into a person that can love and forgive others unconditionally. It’s truly way more than enough!
J: “In Christ, you were circumcised, not by any physical act, but by being set free from the sins of the flesh by virtue of Christ’s circumcision. You shared in that, just as in baptism you shared in his death, and in him shared the miracle of rising again to new life—and all this because you have faith in the tremendous power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. You, who were spiritually dead because of your sins and your uncircumcision, *God has now made to share in the very life of Christ! He has forgiven you all your sins: Christ has utterly wiped out the evidence of broken commandments which always hung over our heads, and has completely annulled it by nailing to the cross. And then having drawn the sting of all the powers and authorities ranged against us, he exposed them, shattered, empty and defeated, in his own triumphant victory!*” Colossians 2:11-15
E:
“Breathtaking, overwhelming
Your grace is so astounding
Here I stand, made alive in You
Unchanging, never-ending
Your mercy’s so surprising
Here I am, ever loved by You
Your kindness draws me to You
Your praise will be my song
You are glorious, magnificent
All-powerful
Everlasting God
I believe in You
You are wonderful, the risen One
So merciful
Everlasting God
I will worship You
You were bruised and You were broken
Crucified for me, forsaken
How can I ever thank You, God?
Now risen, now reigning
My foolish heart You awakened
Let my life tell of all You’ve done
Your love is so far-reaching
Your mercies carry on
