Lay Down Your Crown
You Are Not the God
4/18/2001
Remember this everyday:
Please put away your excuses for “wearing the pants” in a Relationship with God. On Judgment Day, you will not have any excuse for trumping God’s decisions. You are not The God (Ezekiel 28)...you are merely the man or the woman.
Stop saying that you are “trying” to lay this food down, or “trying” to correct this attitude, or “trying” to stop thinking or acting or feeling this way or that. Do you mean to say you are “trying” to crown God as King, and you are “trying” to take the crown off your own head, but it is just too hard?! Seriously?
Please have humility before God, and voluntarily give Him what is due—and Trust Him with hands open and head bowed! The Bible says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5, and Proverbs 3:34). This concept is all over the Word of God.
Please think about what you are doing, and you WILL be able to surrender every decision over to the God of the Universe! And you’ll experience the amazing life of Father’s Love and Provision and Companionship and Empowering and Intervention—beyond what you could ask for, or imagine!
And part of this grace upon grace is that He changes us, and before we know it, we only want to give Him HIS heart's desire—the Bride of His dreams.
For the Bride of His Dreams
In this fleeting life, so often held as dear,
Wouldn’t it be worth it, to cast off all our fear?
For the One who gave it all, with love endured our pain
Wouldn’t it be worth it, to be His Bride without a stain?
Will we lay it all down, every crown and fleeting pleasure,
for the joy of our Lord, Our King the only Treasure?
Wouldn’t it be worth it, to give up all our claims,
For the Bride of His dreams, and the glory of His name?
He lived humbly as a servant, a spotless sacrifice,
to see His Bride adorned, to fill her with His Light.
Let’s follow in His steps, our hearts and lives yield,
Wouldn’t it be worth it, for His glory to be Revealed?
Oh, let’s lay it all down, every crown and fleeting pleasure,
for the joy of our Lord, Our King our only Treasure.
Wouldn’t it be worth it, to give up all our claims,
For the Bride of His dreams, and the glory of His name?
In the light of eternity, this world will fade away,
But His love and His promise, the Unseen will remain.
So we count the cost, and we gladly pay the price,
To be one in His Love, in the fullness of His life.
Oh, we lay it all down, every crown and fleeting pleasure,
for the joy of our Lord, we give our all forever.
It is so worth it, to give up all our claims,
For the Bride of His dreams, and the glory of His name.
For the Bride of His dreams, and the glory of His name,
We surrender all, to set His heart aflame.
