What if YOU Were to Hear God, as Ezekiel Did?

What if YOU were to hear God say this, below, as Ezekiel did?

There are at least three kinds of people, three different kinds of “responses” to God—when confronted BY God for lukewarmness, pride, worldliness, idolatry, and self-love amongst those who could love and obey Him.

If, like Ezekiel, you hear God confronting those who would claim Him (and anyone who is listening will hear Him pleading)…

And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, proclaim against the holy places, and prophesy against my People; and say to My People, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Behold, I am against you, and I will draw My sword out of its sheath and cut off both righteous and wicked from you. Because I will cut off both righteous and wicked from you, therefore My sword shall go out of its sheath against all flesh from south to north, that all flesh may know that I, the LORD, have drawn My sword out of its sheath; it shall not return anymore.”’ Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes. And it shall be when they say to you, ‘Why are you sighing?’ that you shall answer, ‘Because of the news; when it comes, every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it is coming and shall be brought to pass,’ says the Lord GOD” (Ezekiel 21:1-7).

HOW would you, will you, respond to Words from God of His judgment upon lukewarmness, rebellion, twisted doctrines to excuse and cover up sin, and self-justification amongst those who would wear His Name?

1) Do you blow it off and go on doing whatever you want? Most do. Most won’t think it “applies” to them, and they’re “as good as anybody else,” regardless of what God thinks or feels.

2) Do you care deeply, fear God (“Him who can kill the body and throw the soul in Hell”), and change things in your life to be more like Jesus by His Spirit and Truth with the real and observable Evidence of Jesus’ Life?

3) Do all of number two, AND love and plead passionately with God for others, warn others, do everything you can in begging God and begging others—no matter what it costs you personally? Are you engaged in the LIFE of God, partnering IN Him for others, rather than just considering yourself and doing “right things”—even if genuine and from the heart for Him?

Father WANTS us to approach Him this way. His SON did. And does. And so will others approach His Throne “boldly” and reason on behalf of others while desiring the “burning coal” to cleanse their own lips as well.
