Please remember that the withering away of your spiritual life has its beginning here—your unwillingness to surrender in the controversy with Him. There is not one controversy with God which is not followed by a defeat. If God loses and you win, withering is certain. Before God, therefore, the cross is always a test to us to determine if we are to have life abundant, or withering...

Let me tell you that your attitude to the matters that are provoking your present reactions will settle the measure of your spiritual life in the days to come... IF YOU WIN AND GOD LOSES, THERE IS NO OTHER ISSUE EXCEPT WITHERING. DO NOT REJOICE IN YOUR SEEMING VICTORY AND GAIN OF FREEDOM. DO NOT SUPPOSE YOU WILL HAVE THE TRIUMPH FOREVER JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE SECURED WHAT YOU DESIRED. Your victory just ensures the coming withering of your life and falling away... It is impossible for God to lose and yet for you to have a rich spiritual life...

May God grant us the grace that we would be one with His desire and FORSAKE OURSELVES SO THAT HE CAN BREAK US and enable us to run the race at hand.”
