The Broken HOS, Human Operating system
12/11/2025
You will NEVER “get inside God’s head,” But you can at least accept WHY you cannot and will not:
HE IS GOD, AND YOU ARE NOT.
And,
The “Human Operating System” is set by default to the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
• “God is good. Satan is bad.”
• “Satan is good, God is bad.”
• “Satan and God don’t exist—I make the calls.”
• “I’m ‘agnostic.’ I’m too lazy to decide now, so I’ll decide later, if I still can—if it matters anyway.”
These are all the same. These are all examples of the human-centered operating system of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This is good, that is bad. This is true, and that is untrue. This is how I feel, and this must be that because of...
The HOS. The unsubmitted, untrusting Human Operating System, programmed on the Platform of the natural man setting of the Tree of Knowledge.
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33)
“We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
“No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
“However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’—the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit.
“The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.
“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?
“But we have the mind of Christ.” (I Corinthians 2:6-16)
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)
Did Satan tempt David to take a census? Or did GOD?
Both.
Did Satan destroy Job’s great life? Or did God?
Both.
HOW was that stinky snake even IN the Garden of Eden, hanging out to tell his story to Adam and Eve?
The HOS is stuck.
Why? BECAUSE it always wants to play God and KNOW something. It’s a control thing. It’s an ego thing. Pride rather than submission and total trust of God, no matter what things look like or feel like, is the “temptation” of the natural man Tree:
...the Tree of “I want to know, and I want guarantees, and I want the security of control. The security of God’s sovereignty, and love, and life leave me vulnerable. And, I refuse to be that vulnerable for very long anyway. There’s a time limit.”
That fruit of being smart and being in control, “eating the fruit of the wrong Tree,” looks and sounds and tastes delish, but it only produces in us chaos and rebellion.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20)
“They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.” (John 16:2)
“I too was convinced that I ought to do all that was possible to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth.” -Saul, Paul (Acts 26:9)
Things are not always what they seem.
The Spirit Operating System, SOS:
...Is Trusting GOD, no matter what things seem! We don’t HAVE to figure out what God or man is doing. GOD is sovereign—for His Intent for those who love and serve and trust Him! “The mind controlled by the Spirit is LIFE and PEACE.” The Kingdom of God is “righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” The Spirit says with our spirit, “Abba!” and “All of creation grrrrrroans for the sons of God to LIVE HIS LIFE for real, revealing Jesus to the world.”
Do we believe this, and will we live like this—when the tests come to our brains and sensibilities and experiences?
WHATEVER Satan means for harm, GOD will work for God, and for those who love Him and are called into HIS Purposes (Romans 8:28-29, Genesis 50:20). So then, do we HAVE to figure it out and “decide”—as the HOS demands?
So, let me ask again: Who tempted David to take a census, that he was then soundly punished for taking? And who tortured Job, “the most righteous man of Earth,” with health issues and loss of family and all his possessions—God or Satan?
• 2 Samuel 24:1: “Again the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, ‘Go and take a census of Israel and Judah.’”
• 1 Chronicles 21:1: “Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.”
• Job 2:7: “So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores...”
• Job 42:11: “They... comforted him over all the trouble that the LORD had brought on him.”
Did GOD do it, or did Satan? Both? IS that okay with you?!
Beware of Illusions. It is satan’s language to those who still rely on the Tree of Knowledge, on themselves...
Satan will cloak his “case” for what he wants in enticing, plausible, and benevolent ways, as he did with Jesus in the wilderness and mom and dad in the Garden of Eden.
Queen Jezebel wants to steal a vineyard for her husband, Ahab. (1 Kings 21:8-14) She doesn’t send thugs; she sends letters ordering the elders to “proclaim a fast” (a solemn religious observance) and give the vineyard owner, Naboth, a seat of honor.
• The Evil Reality: The religious ceremony was a setup. The plan was to seat Naboth high up so false witnesses could accuse him of blasphemy during the holy assembly. They used the sanctity of the law to stone an innocent man.
• The Inversion: A holy fast was used to disguise a land-grab and murder.
Herod’s Request to “Worship” (Matthew 2:8)
• The “Good” Mask: King Herod tells the Wise Men, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
• The Evil Reality: Herod had no intention of worshiping; he wanted the location so he could send death squads to kill a rival king (the Massacre of the Innocents).
• The Inversion: The language of adoration was used to facilitate an assassination.
The “Corban” Loophole (Theology as a Cover for Greed) (Mark 7:9-13)
• Neglect Disguised as Devotion
• The “Good” Mask: A person has money that should be used to support their aging parents. Instead, they declare that money “Corban” (a gift dedicated to God).
• The Evil Reality: By claiming the money was for God, they exempted themselves from the commandment to “Honor your father and mother.” They kept the money within their control (or the temple’s) while letting their parents starve, feeling self-righteous about it
• The Inversion: They claimed to be serving God by violating God’s law.
“For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.” —Jesus
IF we live by the wrong Tree, even if genetically modified by grafting good ideas over bad ideas, “We shall surely die.” Trusting LIFE—not ideas or arguments or fears or flattery—is the only way to FLY over the top of confusion or heartache. TRUST GOD.
He WILL work what would have been your worst nightmares or largest failings or most shocking circumstances or betrayals... into GOOD. If it’s HIM we’re after, only. The Human Operating System versus the Spirit Operating System—it matters. Control and human understanding versus trusting HIM, the Person, and His LIFE.
The Judas Kiss (Luke 22:47-48)
• The “Good” Mask: Judas approaches Jesus in a garden and greets him with a kiss—universally understood as a gesture of friendship, brotherhood, and loyalty.
• The Evil Reality: The kiss was the pre-arranged signal to the armed guards to identify which man to arrest.
• The Inversion: Jesus calls this out specifically: “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” Judas, a longtime companion chosen by Jesus Himself, used the sign of peace to initiate betrayal and assasination. Should the disciples think Jesus had made a mistake choosing Judas?
Manipulation cloaked as Justice, Absalom at the Gate (2 Samuel 15:1-6)
• The “Good” Mask: Absalom, David’s son, stands by the city gate. When people come with legal troubles, he tells them, “Your claims are valid and proper, but the King has no representative to hear you. If only I were appointed judge!”
• The Evil Reality: He wasn’t interested in justice; he was “stealing the hearts of the people” to stage a violent coup against his father.
• The Inversion: He feigned concern for the “little guy” to overthrow the government.
Beelzebul Inversion, Good called evil and evil called good (Matthew 12:22-32 and Mark 3:20-30)
• Jesus heals a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute. The crowd is amazed and asks, “Could this be the Son of David?” (Is this the Messiah?)
• The Accusation: The Pharisees, threatened by his popularity but unable to deny the miracle happened, invent a “conspiracy theory.” They claim: “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out satan.”
In modern terminology, Satan is an expert in ”Spiritual Gaslighting” (Isaiah 5:20)
• “Woe to you... who put darkness for light and light for darkness.”
• If you accept this inversion, you lose your grip on Reality, on Life. You can no longer trust goodness when you see it, because you have been trained to view goodness as a “potential demonic trick,” and you are “wise” enough (says the Viper on the wrong Tree) to protect yourself by keeping at arm’s length anything satan has cast doubt upon.
“When Ahab saw Elijah, he said to him, ‘Is that you, you troubler of Israel?’” (1 Kings 18:17-18)
• King Ahab had led Israel into idolatry, which caused a devastating drought. Elijah was the prophet trying to bring them back to God (the solution).
• The Inversion: Ahab, the criminal, looks at the prophet and calls him the criminal. That is how satan creates discord and forces fence-sitters to reveal themselves.
• Elijah: “I have not troubled Israel; but you have. You are the traitor.” Now everyone has to decide.
“We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven... At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm. But ever since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven... we have lacked everything and have been perishing by sword and famine.” (Jeremiah 44:17-18)
• The “Up is Down” Situation: The people were exiled because they worshipped idols. Jeremiah tells them to stop. They stop briefly, but life is hard, so they run back to the vice, the selfish rebellion.
• The Inversion: They conclude that God is the problem and the Idol was their protector. They look at their suffering and say, “See? Things were great when we were sinning! We need to go back to sinning to be safe.” They mistook God’s patience for the idol’s blessing. “God must love me if I get the good parking spot at Walmart, and He must hate me if I don’t.”
The Tree of Knowledge is CONFUSING, not satisfying.
The Tree of Life is ABANDONMENT, not to ideas, but to the PERSON of Jesus.
Otherwise, we will eventually be “outsmarted” by the enemy, as Adam and Eve were.
“Sweet for bitter” (Isaiah 5:20) “Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!” (Proverbs 9:17)
• “Folly” argues that the very act of stealing or hiding makes the experience better.
• The Inversion: Reality says sin leads to death (bitter), but the “darkness for light” mindset convinces the person that the risk and the taboo make it “sweet.”
“Drunken” Apostles (Acts 2:13-15)
• “Some, however, made fun of them and said, ‘They have had too much wine.’’
• The “Up is Down”: The Holy Spirit descends at Pentecost, and the disciples begin speaking in foreign tongues to spread the Gospel. It is a moment of supreme spiritual clarity and power.
• The Inversion: The skeptics look at this spiritual clarity and label it as “drunkenness” (stupor/confusion). They accuse a supernatural filling for a physical intoxication, because they didn’t want accountability.
The “Hardening” of Pharaoh
• Throughout Exodus, the text alternates between saying “Pharaoh hardened his heart” (Exodus 8:15) and “The LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart” (Exodus 9:12).
• Pharaoh was naturally stubborn and rebellious. God “hardened” him not by forcing him to be evil against his will, but by presenting him with commands that God knew would trigger Pharaoh’s stubborn nature, thereby cementing him in his chosen path.
The “Evil Spirit” of Saul
• 1 Samuel 16:14 states, “Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.”
• God is so sovereign that even evil spirits are under His command. If an evil spirit tormented Saul, it could only do so because God allowed it as a judgment for Saul’s disobedience.
And, finally, was the death of Jesus a murder committed by wicked men, or a sacrifice planned by God?
• Acts 2:23 combines both in one sentence: “This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death.”
• God ordained the outcome, the cross.
• Humans freely chose the action (the betrayal and murder) out of their own wickedness.
You will NEVER “get inside God’s head,” but you can at least accept WHY you cannot and will not: HE IS GOD, AND YOU ARE NOT.
Live by and IN Him, and HE will order your steps and hide you under His wing. He is Good.
