Coming Soon to a Planet Near You?

“Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies.” (Revelation 11:1-5)
Perhaps there is a three and a half year of total weirdness coming up where “men and women of the tombs” get to trample the holy city, for His purposes of preparing the Bride and purifying our motives? The Story definitely still ends well, regardless of what happens about that. : )
When John wrote this—there were only 250 million people on planet Earth.
Maybe he was writing about a later time, maybe “coming soon to a planet near you.”
“Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. By these three plagues, a third of mankind was killed—by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths.” (Revelation 9:16-18)
Good morning! I especially love the last sentence of Psalm 149. I am reading and re-reading it this morning. It sounds a lot like “soon He will crush satan under YOUR feet.” : )
Oh, Yeah!
Have a peace filled day.
“Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful. O Israel, rejoice in your Maker. O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King. Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds. Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands—to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains, to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones. Praise the Lord!” (Psalms 149:1-9 NLT)
