Defend the Faith, or HEAL THE LAND?
4/28/2026
It’s a challenging Call, but we are not called to win arguments, or defend ourselves; we are called to turn hearts and minds towards Jesus, in a noisy world.
We aren’t called to defend ourselves, but to defend God’s honor when necessary, and to HEAL THE LAND.
The faith is defended best when it is lived, and the land is healed when truth and mercy meet in us. Jesus did not come swinging at every opponent; He came “to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). He said the Spirit of the Lord had anointed Him “to proclaim good news to the poor,” “to heal the brokenhearted,” and “to set at liberty those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18). That is not retreat from truth. That is truth in motion.
Yes, we are to “contend for the faith” (Jude 1:3). But notice how Jesus contended: with holiness, clarity, courage, and compassion. He told the truth to the woman at the well, but He also gave her living water (John 4:16-26). He confronted hypocrisy, but He still touched lepers, received children, and forgave sinners (Mark 1:40-42; Mark 10:13-16; Luke 7:36-50). He did not protect truth by becoming hard. He revealed truth by becoming near.
If we subdue the motor in our own hearts and minds, the fear and defensiveness, any ego or plans of our own for the future—we can then also help others hear the Signal through the static and noise of this present age. If they want to.
Heal the Land.
“Speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15). “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). “If my people... humble themselves, and pray... then I will hear... and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
We’re not here to fight with victims of the enemy, like ourselves. We’re here for this—if we can keep the motor down and our eyes up: to help our brothers and sisters in Adam to See the real and living Second Adam, and find His Healing.
The Signal, through the noise and static.
“But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. ‘Go, stand in the temple courts,’ he said, ‘and tell the people all about this new full Zoe life.’” (Acts 5:19-20)
