Invitation to Participate in Prophetic and Royal Work

“For we have become partakers (gr: partners in a work or office) of anointing (Heaven oil poured on a prophet or king or healing) if we hold (possess, retain, seize on) the beginning of our confidence (substructure, foundation, courage, resolute) steadfast (firm, of force, steadfast, sure) to the end (definite point or goal, the point aimed at as a limit, the conclusion of an act, result immediate, ultimate or prophetic purpose).”

The scripture in Hebrews had always sounded to me like a threat almost, hold on for dear life or else. But that’s not what it says.

The substructure and foundation of heaven oil are firmly anchoring us if we stay focused until the prophetic task is done!

And if I’m seeing it right, God is gracious just to ask us to hold on to the same faith that led us to fall into His arms in the beginning. Not some giant thing out there somewhere we have yet to attain—but our beginning, newborn, initial, entire confidence.

And it’s not a threat to “hold on for dear life until the end or else.” It’s an invitation to participate in prophetic and royal work until the task is complete!
