Unforgiveness, Longing for human love, fear….. There are a number of particular sins that don't respond well to direct confrontation. You Know it's sin, but thinking about it and attempting to “beat it down” only seem to feed it and give it strength. So, “Don’t”…. ….Reason with it. Don’t beat on it. Don’t get emotional and have some big extravagant session of exorcising it from your life. No grandiose promises or resolutions or vows. Not this time. Just leave it. Let it go and love on Him, with no strings attached. Just walk away, quietly. No lingering, no longing, no remembering. Gracefully leave it at the foot of the cross. Don’t look back. Do NOT look back. “Put it on a raft and let it drift away, until it disappears.” For Him. For others. He is sufficient.
