Question About the Salvation That Is Coming

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5

The inheritance that is kept in heaven and the salvation that is coming, revealed in the last time... what is this speaking of? I was thinking about how eternal life is to know Him, and that is a now thing. Is it like “jumper four,” who is fully trusting but still falling? Is it after you die that is revealed?

It is kept safe in heaven where thieves cannot break in and steal, and moth and rust cannot destroy. The word salvation does not mean “going to heaven”—it is delivered, being delivered, and shall be delivered, washed and sanctified, being washed and being sanctified and matured, and shall be fully delivered when we see him face-to-face.
