Self: "Motor" Fuel

I was thinking about something the other day and I could feel fear start to rise in my heart. I knew that I didn’t need to “just calm that fear” but I needed to cut down the SOURCE of that fear. When my motor gets running with emotion (fear, excitement, anger, etc.) there is usually some false priority, some idol, some self that is the culprit. We owe it to Jesus to identify and surrender to its death any idol that fuels our motor. Jesus deserves our undivided hearts. —R

The Idol of Self is “Motor” Fuel

FEAR = the idol is in danger

EXCITEMENT = the idol is at play

ANXIETY = the idol is at risk

ANGER = the idol is threatened

DEPRESSION = the idol is delayed

LOVE = the idol is gone

Blessed are the pure/pruned/single in heart, for they will see God!
