Generated Out of Life

Seems like the corporate expression and teaching will only have as much value as is happening on an individual basis. Because even that teaching about hope in a corporate gathering, unless it has a foundation that’s happening on an individual basis, you won’t really have much depth and that might be three planks for it or something. It seems that way. It has to be real on the individual daily basis. I guess that’s the way it is with anything.

With anything - that’s exactly right. That’s why none of this stuff is canned or gimmicky. It’s because it’s just organic life anyway. The majority of things that I have ever taught in any kind of public way, the vast, vast majority of it is from a conversation I just had this morning with somebody, or yesterday afternoon somebody asked me a question, or I saw something that required my attention and I spoke to it. It dug out of my spirit this big, long string of thoughts that I had never previously connected. We just happened to be getting together the next evening and boom! “Let me share with you some things that seemed important yesterday. See if you think they’re important too.”

I think a lot of these things are generated out of daily experiences and relationships and observations and conversations. That’s where they’ll come from. The pillar and foundation of truth is the ecclesia. God is going to bring these things out of ecclesia life, and they will express themselves perhaps in public settings, but they’ll be generated out of life in the vast majority of times.
