Transparency Is Part of the Path to Change
3/17/2024
From someone this morning after some recent conversations:
Something I wrote this morning...
How can I be transparent? And what does it look like? I picture Nathaniel... without guile. Fully known. No fears of sharing something about yourself that you don’t want people to know. Just fully open. Fully seen.
I picture David dancing in the sunlight in front of all those people—unashamed, unhindered. Pride and self and embarrassment totally out of the picture. He wasn’t trying to protect his image. None of that.
Being transparent isn’t about “opening up more” or something as shallow as that. It comes from the deepest place of your heart where you desire to be in the light of the Son, fully known and one with God’s people. You desire change and know that transparency is part of the path to change. You aren’t trying to protect yourself or put up a wall. No hypocrisy or two-facedness. Your hands are open. Your heart is soft. Even if you fail ten thousand times, you aren’t afraid to say it. Because you KNOW you are covered in the blood. You have His hundred. And it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of you. “Though none go with me, still I will follow.” If everyone thinks I’m a failure, so be it. I will keep apologizing and making it right and trust in the blood of the Son. I will continue to love and sing and worship. I will live Free! This is transparency.
