Valuing What Jesus Values

Caring for Individual People Not "Plans"

1/2/2025

As I told someone yesterday, who claimed they walk into a room and feel some level of excitement with the crowd of people because “What’s the problem with wanting to be with God’s peeeeeeople?!”

...Was Jesus ever excited to have a plan to be with a group of people in an evening or during the day? No possibility! Why? Because he didn’t get energy from groups or fun or activities or breaking up boredom. He looked at each person individually. If there were twelve people in a room for dinner, he cared about each one individually; this one—celebrating their recent growth, that one—being concerned about their selfishness or their pride, another about their vanity, another about their child-rearing, another about their materialism or delighted that they were repenting of that and growing. He certainly did not ever have excitement about being with a crowd of God’s peeeeeeople.

Do you see the difference? Caring about people and their souls is what Jesus does! And therefore anything except that is shallow and sinful. Jesus is the definition of what is Holy and anything less is demonic. So we keep working to line our flesh up with what is Holy, what is like Jesus and what He would value!
