Why the Word Became Flesh

One of the reasons that God did this crazy miracle of the virgin birth and the word becoming flesh and dwelling amongst us:

God knew we could not as humans do very well “wanting to be like God.” That is too big and too impossible. He came to meet us halfway with a human mother so we could say “I want to be like Jesus, like the guy who suffers and is tempted in all the ways that I am. I want to be like Jesus.” 12:07 p.m.
