Death, Where IS Your Sting?

If a so-called cellular, molecular, present-age earth-bound “death” does more in the end to serve God than an inefficiently scaled biological life, why would we resist that? If we are seeing the planet and the world system properly?

In the Matrix movie, “Cipher” even saw it properly, but was just a greedy, selfish animal. He knew that the illusion of “Steak” was only that, but he didn’t care. He wasn’t fooled. He was a fool.

Of Samson, “the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life (Judges 16:30).”

Jesus also accomplished more through His death—than through His earth-life alone. He wasn’t a victim. He selflessly chose the “greater good.” He did not succumb to drinking the cup. He chose it. Because the greater good of His brothers and sisters was more important than suffering or humiliation or the unknown.

He taught, healed, and revealed Father while living a mere 33 years, just a few miles or kilometers from wherever we are sitting or standing right now. That was great. That was “eye-opening” for those near him.

Certainly. “No one ever spoke like this man,” said those who had originally been skeptical, if not violent towards him. That was great.

And more, through His “Volunteer” pain and humiliation, and then “death” on the cross—He did something else: He scaled Abundant Life itself. He purchased the future; He reached back into the past, to make sense of it and to “redeem” it for all of us individually and as a whole.

He now hits the “pause” button to freeze the current moment, for those who met Him and meet Him as an opportunity, an invitation to humble us with lucidity. He has constructed, faithfully and patiently, the “long game” for each of us, the skandalon, the Designer “trap” that we can’t “fix” or figure out in advance, made just for us, to open our specific individual eyes.

It’s as if to Him, and now to us, “time” itself is only a “temporary” construct. Because it is just that.

In His life, He was amazing. And yet, even more in His death. He carried on His own back the “missing the mark” (aka “sins”) of the world—for those who would fully trust Him, not just acknowledge “the idea of.” He disarmed the powers of evil that were often hidden in “every day” power and bureaucracy, untethered “media” and system.

He shed light where we needed it most, and Satan hates it most. He opened our eyes to the Dark powers and forces hidden in “everyday” peer pressure, insecurity, and shiny bobbles that tarnish, break, and fade.

He showed us that pride, fear, greed, and hatred are only useful idiots to separate the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the weeds, without them even knowing it is happening.

Y’shua, Jesus defeated sin and death, and thereby, in His Martyrdom, He opened the way for forgiveness and reconciliation to Abba “our Father.” Wow.

In “death” He Birthed, inaugurated a... no, THE New Agreement, and, through His resurrection, secured Zoe eternal life for us to “partake” (as Peter referred to Life before time and without time).

We have left too much on the table, on the pitch, on the field, on the court! Let’s make our run on it!

...for all who trust in Him, “all who believe” that he didn’t come to bring us a strategy or a building, or a special day, or clergy-laity.

His greatest victory came not by avoiding death but by triumphing through it, so that the cross—what appeared to be His defeat—became the means of humanity’s greatest redemption.

“He humiliated Satan and his enemies... on the cross.”
