His Car, His Road, His Key - But YOU Turn the Key!

Turn the Key!

God wants YOU to be the one to turn the key to start the engine to drive on the road—His car, His gas, His road. His key.

You turn the key—by deciding to turn off the radio when it is not a thought Jesus would entertain or dwell on or tolerate. He thought nothing the Father doesn’t think. He said nothing He didn’t hear the Father saying. It truly is a big deal that we not tolerate radio, a.k.a. dwell on temptation and satan’s voice and ideas.

(“Radio” = our spinning, chattering, analytical noisy thoughts that are not of Christ -- our radio of self-indulgence, self-justification, accusation and judgment, mopey, looping, fantasies, comparison, pride, fears, and more.)

When our emotions, decisions, or thoughts are about ourselves, ourselves, ourselves—there are consequences in the spiritual realm (and in our relationships) that are “not good.” Next time you are feeling something or thinking something, ask yourself, “Is this about me, and what I want, or what I fear, or how I feel?” If it is, you are thinking, feeling, and quoting what satan wants... because Jesus wasn’t and isn’t like that. If you sow satan seeds, you will reap a harvest you do not want. Don’t think you can keep doing it, and it won’t have consequences.

As an example, but only one of many possible examples:

“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?” (James 4:1-2)

James highlights the following causes—
• Selfish Desires: The internal craving for pleasure or self-centered goals leads to disputes. These desires often conflict with others’ interests, creating tension and hostility.
• Unfulfilled Longings: People lust for things they cannot have, leading to envy, jealousy, and even extreme actions such as harm or violence to achieve their goals.
• Covetousness: The desire for what others possess fosters conflict, as individuals fight and quarrel to obtain what they want but cannot attain.
• Neglecting God: James also points out that people fail to ask God for their needs or ask with wrong motives, further exacerbating their frustrations and conflicts. Ultimately, James emphasizes that these wars and disagreements are rooted in internal struggles rather than external circumstances. By addressing the sinful passions within oneself, believers can better resolve conflicts and live in peace.

Again...

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:7-8)

He must have been talking about resisting the devil by renouncing those “emotions or decisions or thoughts about ourselves, ourselves, ourselves” and submitting to God by embracing *Jesus’* emotions and decisions and thoughts. And the results of doing *that* are amazing!

Words Create

speech bubble representing person 2 talkingYour venting or self-pity or fears or lust, your hiding places and protection mechanisms, your judgments and jealousy, your pride or vanity or willingness to take internal credit for “accomplishments” as Herod—these thoughts about you, centering in you, want to fool you into thinking they are your friends—even though they are quoting satan.

As surely as God created the universe with words, and Jesus was The Word and by The Word was miraculously made flesh and blood, WORDS CREATE.

And satan’s words quoted or tolerated in your brain and heart will destroy. One way or another. In time. “Be not deceived” (Galatians 6:7) about this point. Take control. Do not leave it to satan to drive the car.

Again... God wants YOU to be the one to turn the key to start the engine to drive on the road—His car, His gas, His road. His key. Turn the key—by deciding to turn off the radio when it is not a thought Jesus would entertain or dwell on or tolerate. He thought nothing the Father doesn’t think. The Pioneer of the New Race: Jesus.

“And everyone who claims to be in him must walk as Jesus walks.” (1 John 2:6)

“The mind controlled by the spirit is always and continually life and peace.” (Romans 8:6)

speech bubble representing person 3 talking Yes, sir! It is gooood news that we are not bound to tolerate such foolishness that can pop up in our heads! What a gift! There is a Way out and a Way to the Father! And, though He didn’t have to, but true to His nature, He made it the way of peace. Oh, how wonderfully indebted we are to Him!

Turn It Off, and Turn to God

speech bubble representing person 4 talking Passing along these verses and note... They paint such a clear vision of our Inheritance in Him, and why everything above is so crucial to WALK in that Inheritance.

“Instead of thinking about ourselves and what we want, how we feeeeel, our selfish desires, and sowing those seeds, we can turn that off. As was said above, we can choose to turn to God, and fix our eyes on Jesus. It has been wonderful to read these scriptures below and to focus on the Glory of our King and thank HIM and worship Him for His Goodness, Wisdom, Mercy, Amazing Grace, Redemptive Heart, Forgiveness, Sovereignty, Power, and Unrelenting Love.”

17The Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight and I have known you by name.” 18Then Moses said, “Please, show me Your glory!” 19And He said, “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion to whom I will show compassion.” 20He further said, “You cannot see My face, for mankind shall not see Me and live!” 21Then the Lord said, “Behold, there is a place [a]by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock; 22and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. 23Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen.” (Exodus 33:17-23 NASB)

4So he cut out two stone tablets like the former ones, and Moses got up early in the morning and went up to Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and he took the two stone tablets in his hand. 5And the Lord descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the Lord. 6Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in faithfulness and truth; (Exodus 34:4-6)

8And Moses hurried to bow low toward the ground and worship. 9Then he said, “If in any way I have found favor in Your sight, Lord, please may the Lord go along in our midst, even though the people are so obstinate, and pardon our wrongdoing and our sin, and take us as Your own possession.” (Exodus 34:8-10)

10Then God said, “Behold, I am going to make a covenant. Before all your people I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the Lord, for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you.

29And it came about, when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him. 30So when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to approach him. 31Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers in the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them. 32Afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he commanded them to do everything that the Lord had spoken to him on Mount Sinai. 33When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face. 34But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, he would take off the veil until he came out; and whenever he came out and spoke to the sons of Israel what he had been commanded, 35the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone. So Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with Him. (Exodus 34:29-35)

28About eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter, John, and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. 29And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and [a]gleaming. 30And behold, two men were talking with Him; and they were Moses and Elijah, 31who, appearing in glory, were speaking of His departure, which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 32Now Peter and his companions had been overcome with sleep; but when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who were standing with Him. 33And as these two men were leaving Him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here; and let’s make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not realizing what he was saying. 34But while he was saying this, a cloud formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35And then a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!” 36And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent, and reported to no one in those days any of the things which they had seen. (Luke 9:28-36)

5They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will never be ashamed. (Psalm 34:5)

3revealing yourselves, that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. (2 Corinthians 3:3-18)

4Such is the confidence we have toward God through Christ. 5Not that we are adequate in ourselves so as to consider anything as having come from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 6who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

7But if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones, came with glory so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was, 8how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory? 9For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness excel in glory. 10For indeed what had glory in this case has no glory, because of the glory that surpasses it. 11For if that which fades away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.

12Therefore, having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, 13and we are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not stare at the end of what was fading away. 14But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. 15But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts; 16but whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

4Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, 2but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God. 3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants on account of Jesus. 6For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

7But we have this treasure in [e]earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 8we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; 10always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11For we who live are constantly being handed over to death because of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal flesh. 12So death works in us, but life in you.

13But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written: “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak, 14knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus, and will present us with you. 15For all things are for your sakes, so that grace, having spread to more and more people, will cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

16Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day. 17For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4)
