Lucifer’s Strategy vs. Jesus’ Strategy

Who will we be as we live out our lives? It actually is a choice.

scorched earth
ˈskȯrcht-ˈərth
noun phrase
1. Military Strategy
A military doctrine in which retreating or advancing forces deliberately destroy all local resources—such as food supplies, infrastructure, industrial capacity, and shelter—to prevent them from being utilized by the enemy.
• Context: Typically used by a retreating army to leave an “empty” land for the pursuer, making logistics and survival impossible for the invading force.
fertile field
ˈfər-tᵊl ˈfēld
noun phrase
1. Agriculture
A plot of land possessing the necessary nutrients, soil structure, and water retention to produce abundant crops or lush vegetation.
• Context: The physical antonym to “scorched earth,” where the soil is protected and enriched rather than depleted or poisoned.
fruitful foundation
ˈfrüt-fəl fau̇n-ˈdā-shən
noun phrase
1. Interpersonal
A relationship or partnership built on mutual priorities and goals, and shared values that serves as a base for collaborative relationship and endeavor.
• Context: Unlike a “scorched earth” exit, a fruitful foundation is a “generative entrance,” where the initial setup is designed to be self-sustaining and productive for all involved.
We are all victims. Lucifer is busy fooling people left and right by them eating from the wrong tree and judging each other, and separating and isolating. Whereas the goal should be: everybody helps everybody regardless of where they are at. That’s it. That’s the end of the story. Everybody helps everybody regardless of where they’re at. If someone doesn’t want help that’s different. But everybody helps everybody.
Judgment based on your perception of just how good or bad something someone did is the wrong tree. It’s Life vs. death, not good vs. evil. That is a big deal! That is a BIG DEAL! There is no other way to get along in life other than a clique or a faction or some other clever thing that makes you feel good about yourself but goes nowhere because it doesn’t threaten satan’s kingdom. The only way to threaten satan’s kingdom is what I described: where everyone is a victim and the only thing that separates people is whether they want to change or not. Nothing else separates them—NOTHING. Murder, liar, lust, unforgiveness, pride, laziness. Those are all symptoms of being a victim. And then it is not “Ewww, not that.” It’s, “Do you want to be healed? Do you WANT to be? Do you WANT to be?” That is the only separator between a) and b). ’Til we get there we are not going to know who our friends really are...
That is the reason God put two trees in the garden, with entirely different labels. That’s why it was not about obedience versus disobedience. It was about “what do you want really for your future?” Do you want to be a “god” and judge yourself innocent and anyone else guilty that violates your own personal standard? Or do you want to swim in Life as a wounded healer. Your choice.
“Wounded healer” brought back to mind a quote... Something like, “There are no superheroes. There are only people trying to help others untangle their lives, while they’re still untangling their own.”
I think the reason that particular quote lodged in my mind is that it somehow gave me permission to try to help people around me, in the face of what I knew about myself.
