Niceness and Kindness Don't Cut It

“You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; THEREFORE God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” Hebrews 1:9 NIV

Is it clear to everyone why 1) the nicest person in the world, the sweetest, most sacrificial person in the world, the most pleasant, happiest, creative person in the world... can still be 2) utterly useless to God and 100% without oil?

We know people who were in the first class described and simultaneously in the second class described—and some people around them were fooled—because they were looking for the wrong thing!

Don’t be naïve enough to think that sympathy, familiarity, pleasantries, histories, and kindness have all that much to do with salvation and anointing oil!

What happened to the nice virgins with no oil?

What does Hebrews 1:9 say it takes to be like Jesus and of his spirit? Read it again.
